These look good--track me down and we can go over some color correction and painterly stuff you can do in Photoshop. Keep it rollin'
A Gaussian blur might even out the colors, though too much and you'd loose the sense of your strokes.If you wanted to play with differing color schemes, you could also use illustrator's Live Trace, though it would turn things into flat colors.
